Marble mountains

The Marble Mountains are a striking cluster of five limestone and marble hills located just south of Da Nang. Each peak is named after one of the five essential elements—Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth—and together they form a significant spiritual and historical landmark. ​The mountains are famous for their intricate network of natural caves, many of which house ancient Buddhist sanctuaries and Hindu shrines. Visitors can explore the larger caverns, such as the impressive Huyen Khong Cave, where sunlight filters through holes in the ceiling to illuminate giant Buddha statues. ​In addition to the spiritual sites, the area offers several pagodas with traditional architecture and panoramic viewing decks that provide sweeping vistas of the coastline and the city. At the base of the mountains lies a historic stone-carving village where local artisans have practiced their craft for centuries, creating everything from small ornaments to massive garden sculptures.
